Did You Know?

1.  Did you know that it is almost next to impossible to cancel a credit card?  I tried, but after an hour and a half on the phone, all I ended up with was a case of rage and three still, very valid credit cards.

2.  Speaking of credit cards, did you know that when you tell customer service that you are thinking of canceling one, and so want to make sure that the APR you have is the very lowest available, they will say, sorry, but yes, it is.  However, when you actually call to cancel the card, they will magically offer you a lower rate.

3.  Did you know that it is possible for a child to say, “How come he/she got, {fill in the blank}, and I didn’t?” over fifty times a day?  Thus causing me to repeat the phrase “because life’s not fair,” more often than I would like, or they care.

4.  Did you know that a child won’t remember where the shoes, that they took off twenty minutes prior, are, but will not forget that their school is holding a fundraiser at Rita’s Water Ice?  That same child will eat all the chicken on their plate in order to go to that fundraiser.

6.  Did you know my landscapers suck?  I’ve made no secret of my love/hate relationship with them.  If your interested (and landscaper complaining is your type of thing), you can read about it here.  They finally showed up today, for our first mow, so we’re all hiding in our pajamas and one Super Girl costume, (yea, that’s still happening), since I don’t have curtains on my back windows.  Nature usually gives us all the privacy we need, except on days like this, hence the hiding. They’re almost done, and aggravatingly enough, with no signs of performing the spring clean up, that I requested be earlier rather than later.  Who am I kidding?  Like they care.

7.  Did you know that it’s almost just as hard to find a little girl bathing suit that fits well (read, no gaping legs) as it is for a grown woman.  Note to manufacturers:  women and girls come in many shapes and sizes and little girls legs do not branch off into large wide stumps (I’m talking to you, Gymboree).  Why don’t men have these problems?

8.  Did you know there must be a lot of rich people in the world, willing to spend their money on ridiculous things, like $88 for 7 for Mankind Jeans, over a hundred dollars for sandals, and $90 for bathing suits.  What?  You think these prices are reasonable? Then maybe you don’t realize that these items I found on Zappos are for TODDLERS! Maybe the people buying this stuff have toddlers that stay in their clothes longer than 3-6 months.  I don’t know, but I have a hard time spending that kind of money on my own stuff, let alone on my kids stuff.  These Moschino’s are $145!!!  They’re not even cute!!

9.  Did you know that I should be cleaning my house instead of blogging.  Of course you did!   I don’t need to say anything more.

10.  And finally, did you know that today is my good friend’s birthday?  Well, it is.  Happy Birthday, Wen!  I hope you have a great day.

  1. I know its the obvious question, but why don’t you switch landscapers? They are beating down doors to do lawns around here. There are so many that they do a good job knowing you can get someone else new out, the same day in most cases. Is the market that tight up there?
